POLICY CHANGE

We advocate for state and local policies that expand women’s access to jobs and fair wages and/or support working families.

OUR PUBLIC POLICY CHANGE

WFSTL advocates for state and local policies that:

  • Expand access to jobs and fair wages by addressing the gender wage gap & promoting living wages for all.
  • Support working families through paid family leave & access to safe, affordable childcare.

We also host panels & webinars on specific issues to educate the public on policy solutions that advance women economically.

In 2020, WFSTL helped to successfully pass Prop R, which raised $2.3  million for early childhood services. These funds benefit 0-5-year-olds in the city’s most divested areas.

ADVOCACY:  2022 POLICY AGENDA

WFSTL recognizes that there are also many other barriers that women experience to economic success. This policy agenda is meant to serve as a lens to focus WFSTL’s time and resources over the next 12 months.  By joining and forming coalitions with organizations that share WFSTL’s values, these priorities will be based upon data, which will be compiled and/or commissioned as needed.
